What does the scholars and jurists say about a situation where the husband of a woman dies and he was a government servant. His widow is entitled to receive his pension but she will have to go the post office for this as she cannot be given the pension without her signature or thumb impressions. Is she permissible to go the post office for this reason, considering that the pension is her only source of income?

Answer #: 214

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

                                   As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

She will be allowed to go to the post office due to the above mentioned need.
