What does the scholars and jurists say about a situation where an imam was leading the Eid salah, when he had to recite Eid’s Takbeer after “thana”, he forgot and started to recite surah Fatihah, the followers tried to remind him by prompting him but he completed the recitation and did Ruku, then performed the second rakat and ended the salah without performing the sajda e sahw. Will the Eid prayer be valid or not?

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
The imam should have left reciting the surah and recited the takbeerat when he was prompted by the followers, then recite surah fatihah again. But as this was not done, sajda e sahw was compulsory. However in Eid salah, sajda-e-sahw is excused therefore the prayer was valid.
